It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Corinne Cameron Easley on March 5, 2024. Corinne was born in Fredericksburg, TX to Alfred Cameron and Helen Dittmar Cameron on August 6, 1937. Corinne led a remarkable life in the midst of challenging times. She excelled academically, becoming Valedictorian at Fredericksburg High School and pursued her higher education at the University of Texas – Austin and the University of Denver where she obtained a master’s degree in Physics.
Corinne married Joe C. Easley in August of 1957 and moved to the Texas Panhandle to begin her new journey as a devoted and supportive wife and mother. Together they raised three daughters in the towns of Hereford, Dalhart and Perryton. Throughout her life, Corinne balanced her academic achievements with her role as a nurturing and loving mother to her daughters Lacey, Alison, and Cheryl. She also embraced her later role as a benevolent and attentive grandmother and great-grandmother, cherishing the time spent with her expanding family.
Late in life, Corinne dedicated herself to the field of education and learning, serving as an educator. Her passion for teaching and inspiring young minds left a lasting impact on the countless students she mentored over the years.
Corinne is survived by her brother Curtis Cameron and wife Taffy. Her three daughters, Lacey Easley Pitts and her husband Brodie, Alison Easley McDowell and her husband Stewart, and Cheryl Easley Wright and husband Allen. Corinne was blessed with eight grandchildren whom referred to her as Oma. Cameron Pitts and wife Megan, Trayler Pitts and wife Ashley, Skelton Pitts and wife Tara, Douglas McDowell, Meredith McDowell Ogle and husband Tyler, Helen McDowell, Glenn “Tripp” Wright, and Grace Wright. Corinne is survived by her eight precious great grandchildren.
In honor of Corinne’s life and legacy, a celebration of life ceremony will take place at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 11, 2024, at Wade Funeral Home Chapel on 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy., TX 76013. Family and friends are invited to attend to pay their respects and celebrate the remarkable journey of a woman who touched so many lives. Your presence and support during this time of mourning would be deeply appreciated. Let us come together to honor Corinne and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her.
