Cooper Blount, 89, passed away on May 10, 2024, in Arlington, TX.
Cooper Blount was born on December 19, 1934 in Olney, TX to Cooper Blount, Sr. and Alma Ware Blount.
Cooper graduated from Olney High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University. Cooper married Jane Morgan Blount, of Oklahoma City, OK, in 1959. The couple had 2 children, Beth Kinman, of Arlington, and Christopher Blount, of Tulsa. The couple raised their family in Tulsa and were active at First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of Tulsa for many years.
Cooper was known for his stories and his humor. He loved to travel and read in his spare time and stayed curious throughout his life. When his children were teens, one of his favorite things to do was take them and their friends, including the FUMC youth, water skiing behind his boat. He taught many to water ski, despite not skiing himself!
