ARLINGTON -- Anthony Louis Colello, 92, a retired Army colonel, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington, with Father James Gigliotti, T.O.R., celebrant. Interment: 12:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane C. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with a rosary at 7.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church.
Anthony was born Dec. 8, 1920, to Vito Colello and Consetta Veri Colello in in New Castle, Pa., where he was raised. He married Pat L. Southwell in Lawton, Okla., and moved to Fort Worth in 1971. Anthony retired after 29 years of service as a colonel with the U.S. Army having served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a passionate golfer and enjoyed sports.
Survivors: Beloved wife of 46 years, Pat L. Colello; and son, Anthony Victor Colello and family.
