Cody Jennings Randles, beloved son, brother, grandson, and great-grandson, crossed over to be with our Lord just a few days after his graduation from Martin High School in Arlington. He was 18.
Services will be officiated by Wade Family Funeral Home (wadefamilyfuneralhome.com).
Ever curious, Cody loved to learn and discover new vistas and frontiers. Math and the Sciences drew his early attention until he wanted to go beyond their limits. He then turned to the Arts which he saw as a boundless medium to explore. He enjoyed all types and ages of music and, in typical fashion, Cody wrote his own lyrics and set them to music. He has been an artist from an early age. He loved to draw, sketch and paint expressing his mind's eye in all mediums. He wanted to complete college with a major in Art so he could follow his creative dreams through life.
He loved computer based gaming and was a recognized competitive HALO player, excelling in international competitions. In simpler moments, he cherished beautiful Texas weather, his skateboard, and a challenging path.
Cody's deep emotional ties drove him to unselfishly give of his time and love – especially to his mom, his siblings and small circle of close friends. One of his favorite things was to set the health pace at the dinner table for his family; if Cody wanted to eat Vegan, all ate Vegan. The ensuing light hearted banter made meals with his family a warm, close, and comforting place.
His shy smile, considered responses and humble demeanor will remain closely held treasures to all who knew and loved him. In keeping with his compassion for others, Cody decided to be an Organ and Tissue donor. His brief life will be a saving miracle to many who never met him but will know him.
He is missed greatly by those he touched; his parents Lauren Collins and Lucas Starr; his dad Roy Randles and wife Charity; his brothers, Jacob, Austyn, and Kaedyn; his sisters, Julia and Avery; Nana Cathy and Poppa Michael; Mimi Cynthia and Grandpa Larry; Miss Jeri; Great Grand Parents Gerald and Betty; along with a large host of cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and his beloved Mira.
At his crossing were his Grandmothers Betty Richards and Wanda Sawyer; his Great Uncles Terry Nelson and Richard Moore; and, his Great Grandparents Edith and Jacob Jennings Beeler who finally got to meet their first great grandchild.
Cody was and always will be loved. We miss him dearly.
