Mr. Clive Thomas Donelan

Clive Thomas Donelan, 94, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, in Arlington, Texas.

Clive was born April 12, 1929, to Thomas and Marie Donelan, née Coady, in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating high school Clive enlisted in the Navy, and later the Army, where he served during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge as Staff Sergeant, he earned his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from St. John’s University. In 1967 the family moved from New York to Texas to further his career in financial services. A devout Catholic, he valued faith and family and never forgot his Brooklyn roots or his English and Irish heritage.

Clive was an active 4^th degree knight with Knights of Columbus in both Dallas and Fort Worth dioceses, and he was a part of the group that launched Beginning Experience in Fort Worth, now an international support program. A great storyteller, he loved acting, winning several awards for local theater performances. Additionally, he also had roles on TV and in film. Professionally, Clive and Susan ran a successful financial services business for many years in Dallas, and later in Arlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Janet Winthrop and brother Ronald Donelan and his grandson Nicholas. He is survived by his wife, Susan Glass-Donelan, his sisters Regina Iannace, and her husband Emil, and Maureen Smith, both of The Villages, Florida, 7 children, 2 step-children, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 4-7pm, Rosary at 6pm, at Wade Funeral Home, followed by a Requiem Mass Saturday, October 28, 10am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Clive will be interred at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery November 13 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Clive’s honor to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
