Clarence Joseph Stinson

Clarence Joseph Stinson, Jr., age 90, was born February 10, 1931. He completed his earthly journey on October 11, 2021. Mr. Stinson, the third of five boys born to his parents, Clarence Joseph Stinson, Sr. and Myrtle Grimm Stinson. He attended schools in Fort Worth and a 1949 Polytechnic High School graduate. He earned an associate degree from Arlington State College and attended TCU. Clarence married Helen Leah Kerr on December 13, 1952. They shared a 57-year marriage. Their union bore two sons, Joseph Michael and Thomas Harley Stinson. His father was a proprietor of OK Warehouse Storage & Moving Company, Inc. in Fort Worth. Following his parent's retirement and deaths, their children inherited the business. The corporation was sold in 1994, ending Clarence's 42-year career as employee and President. Retirement permitted him many pleasures of his passions, baseball and golf. In 1969, as manager and pitcher of the Star-Telegram Men's Softball Team, earned the title of City Champions. In 1957, Mr. Stinson became a member of Forest Hill Presbyterian Church and faithfully served the church in several leadership roles: namely, elder and treasurer for thirty plus years. He is a much loved and revered gentleman, godly husband, father grand-dad and great-grand-dad. His smile and gently spirit is admired by all who were blessed to have known him. Following the death of Mrs. Stinson in 2010, he attended a grief support for widows/widowers. At the door, he was greeted by another beautiful lady, Bobbie Jean Lanfear. They were married April 23, 2011 and were active members of Forest Hill Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth until its closing in 2017. He joined Tate Springs Baptist Church in 2019. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen and three brothers, Ralph, Tommy and Richard Stinson. Survivors: Wife, Bobbie; two sons, Joe Stinson of Arlington, Tommy & (Shae) Stinson of Belton, Texas; five grandchildren, Melissa Villegas and husband Fabian; Ryan, Emma, Alis and Michael Stinson and two great-granddaughters, Lyla and Lannah Villegas; one brother, Don Stinson & wife, Joyce of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Betty Stinson of Georgetown, Texas and two step-sons, Larry Lanfear of Arlington and Curtis Lanfear of Kemp, Texas and their families.
