Clarence Alvin Gardner

C.A. (Al) Gardner, was born in Arlington,Texas on November 4, 1931, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 18, 2020 at his home in Burleson, Texas. Al grew up in Arlington on a dairy farm. He was shaped by hard work and a christian upbringing. Al graduated from Birdville High School in 1950 and attended classes at TCU. Al married his sweetheart Ozleta Anderson in 1952. The following 2 years he proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Campaign. Al began his career at Southwestern Bell Telephone in an entry-level position and retired after 35+ years of service as a circuit design engineer. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ozleta, whom he loved dearly, his 2 sons, Rick Gardner and wife Linda, Scott Gardner, and wife Kim, 5 grandchildren, Morgan Burroughs and husband Captain Brad Burroughs, Kenneth Gardner “Pepper”, Major Ben Gardner and wife Erika, Molly Rios and husband Jesse, Rebecca Grieco and husband Major Nick Grieco. Al is also survived by his 7 great grandchildren: Braden, Kinsley, and Aubrie Burroughs, Wyatt and Emmalyn Gardner, and Ryan and Andrew Grieco. He was looking forward to the arrival of his 8th great grandson, baby Rios. Al is survived by 2 brothers, John Thomas Gardner and wife Laverne, Vernie Gardner and wife Rosemary and sisters-in-law Charline Gardner and Lillie Ard. He is predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Birdie Lee Gardner, his brothers Wayne Gardner, Rodney Gardner and wife Claudine, and sister Charlene Pendergrass and husband Monroe. Al was devoted to his family, friends, and above all his Lord and Savior. He was a faithful prayer warrior for many, often without their knowledge.
