Clare Duane Wright

Clare Duane Wright, 90, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 in Arlington, Texas Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Friday, May 21, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorial Visitation: 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Dachshund Lovers of Texas Rescue, www.dltrescue.org. Clare was born on December 31, 1930. He married Phyllis Hahn on September 1, 1956 and later moved to Arlington, Texas in 1968. He was a proud United States Navy veteran. Clare received his pilots license when he was in his early twenties and later went on to own his own airplane. He was a tremendous woodworker and enjoyed making wooden toys for the children at Cooks Children Medical Center. He had a huge heart for people and loved his family dearly. Clare was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Wright on June 9, 2020; his parents, Clyde Wright and Grace Murnighan Wright; and sister, Dorothy McPherson. Survivors: sons, Duane Wright and wife, Melanie, Randy Wright and wife, Teri; daughters, Denise Johnson and Sandra Shobe; sisters-in-law, Joan Parker and Jackie Leclear; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
