Clara Frances Moore

December 29, 1927 — November 24, 2022

Clara Frances Moore departed for her eternal heavenly home on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022, after living a very successful life. For those who know the savior, their homegoing after many years, is a reason to give thanks. She was born nearly 95 years before on December 29, 1927, to Dale and Fern Merwin in Bryan, Texas. She was very successful in school, graduating with high academic achievement from Adamson High School in Oak Cliff in 1945 and also at Hockaday Junior College in 1947. Outside of school, she became a very accomplished pianist, playing lengthy compositions of famous artists. She also, as a teenager, played to accompany the church choir and local congregation.
Frances was married soon after completing Junior College to Dick Wilkinson. They had two sons, Rick and Greg whom she brought up as she worked for many years for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (later AT&T) as a bilingual representative.
After her first marriage came to a close, she married Walter Moore with whom she lived the rest of his life. She was very active in the Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church for many years, sometimes teaching her Sunday School class. She also attended the Dallas Symphony
Orchestra with her sisters and friends for many years.
After she retired, she and her younger sister Alma took many trips throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest sister, Alma. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-laws: Rick and Lynnette Wilkinson and Greg and Denice Wilkinson along with five grandchildren: Paul Wilkinson, Kyle (Ashley) Wilkinson, Ryan (Stephanie) Wilkinson, Brittany Wilkinson (Bryan) Harrell, and Natalie Wilkinson (Tyson) Taylor; and 13
great-grandchildren. Her twin sister and brother Marjorie King and Dr. William Merwin also survive her.
Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church, 6000 S Hampton Rd, Dallas, TX 75232.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you may want to make a contribution to her beloved church, Oak Cliff Presbyterian.
