Christy Lynn Hay was welcomed into the world on Monday, November 9th, 1970, at a Fort Worth, Texas hospital. Her proud parents, Michael and Cheryl Olig, gazed adoringly at their newborn daughter, who even in her earliest moments, had a captivating presence. As she grew, Christy remained true to herself, never compromising her identity for the sake of others’ comfort. Her confident and unapologetic attitude drew people to her like a magnet, and she quickly became one of the most well-known figures in her school. Her popularity soared, but she never let it change her. Her younger sister Tina felt blessed to have such a cool and protective older sibling. To Christy, life was an adventure, and she tackled it with boldness, fearlessness, and a contagious sense of humor. Naturally, as a result, Christy always kept her mother Cheryl on her toes never knowing what to expect next from her.
Christy was brilliant when it came to her academics. She never had to pick up a book or spend time studying. As a child, she found joy in riding bicycles and playing softball, but as she grew older, her love for the outdoors only intensified. As an adult, she enjoyed immersing herself in nature through activities such as fishing, hunting, and swimming in the lake. Most importantly, Christy fiercely loved and protected her family, or her “Tribe” as she called them. Christy lived BIG and loved BIG.
