Chesley Paul Sawyer, 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Arlington.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, March 26, at First Baptist Church, 301 S. Center St., Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Paul was born on July 26, 1931 in Mexia, Texas to Louin Webster Sawyer and Trixie Ameria McCarty Sawyer. He was a graduate of Mexia High School where he played on the Black Cat Football team. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, since 1952. Paul owned and operated Specialty Coatings Corporation in Arlington for 39 years. He was a fifty-year member of the Mason's and a former Grand Patron of the Order of Eastern Star.
Paul was a kind and generous family man who was loved by all, he had a contagious laugh and never met a stranger. He leaves an empty spot in our family home.
Paul was preceded in death by his son, Jackie Sawyer in 2007; granddaughter, Paula Watson in 2001; and grandson, Scott Sawyer in 2008.
Survivors: Wife of 67 years, Joyce Tooke Sawyer; son, Bryan Sawyer and wife, Tammy; daughter, Robin Davis and husband, Barry; daughter-in-law, Audrey Sawyer; brother, Marion M. Sawyer and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Brandon Sawyer, Ashley Sawyer, Sawyer Davis, Parker Davis, Gary Rakes and Katy Terry; great-grandchildren, Alex Watson, Maxwell Sawyer and Blakely Sawyer.
