Cheryl Ann Stevens Bain passed away at her home on Holy Thursday, April 18, 2019, following a lengthy illness. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W Pleasant Ridge Rd, Arlington. Interment: Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Longview. Visitation: 6-7 p.m. Rosary: 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. She was born on November 16, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to loving parents, Madalyn Brashear Stevens and John William Stevens. She began her early education in Houston at St. Vincent de Paul School. It was in that parish's church that she was baptized, received First Communion and Confirmation. Her secondary schooling was at Pershing Junior High and Bellaire High School, from which she graduated in 1966. In 1967, she married Patrick Steven Bain at St.Vincent's in Houston. They started their married life in Arlington, Texas, and daughters, Deborrah Elizabeth Bain, and Stephanie Lynn Bain, were born to them there. While a young mother, she completed her college degree at the University of Texas at Arlington. Her second daughter, Stephanie Lynn Bain, died of Leukemia at the age of 10 in 1979. Two years later, Cheryl and Pat became the proud parents of identical twins, Angela Elizabeth and Jessica Lynn Bain. Cheryl spent twenty years in the field of religious education, working for several parishes in the Dioceses of Dallas and of Fort Worth. She was presented the Dallas Bishop's Award for Pro-Life Education. She also enjoyed a successful career in real estate. Cheryl served on the Parish Council for St. Vincent de Paul Church in Arlington and helped write the Mission Statement for the parish. Her faith, family, and home were the most important aspects of her life. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and qualified for DAR membership on both sides of her mother's family through several patriots of the American Revolution. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Stephanie. She is survived by her husband of over fifty years, Patrick Bain, children, Debbie Minardi and husband, Mike, of Mansfield; Angela Stillman and husband,Ty, of Bedford; and Jessica Bain of The Woodlands. Surviving grandchildren are Ray of Mansfield and Colt and Corbin of Bedford. Also surviving are her sister, Carole Stevens Mattingly and husband, Paul, of Houston; her brother, Edwin Stevens of Magnolia, Texas; and nieces and nephew, Michelle Mattingly Williamson of Houston; Jennifer Mattingly Rareshide of New Orleans; and Cody Stevens of Richmond, Texas. Five great nieces and nephews and several cousins, also survive. The Bain Family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Cheryl's devoted and loving caretakers, Sara, Rosa and Lisa.
