Charles Vincent Izquierdo

August 22, 1958 — March 14, 2018

Charles Vincent Izquierdo was born on August 22, 1958 in Rochester, New York to Dr. Alberto G. Izquierdo & Wanda Lou Simms Izquierdo. Charles grew up in Villa Hills, KY and graduated from Dixie Heights High School and then attended flying school in Ludlow, KY, receiving a commercial pilot license and working for Angel Flight in KY and TX. He later attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX, pursuing a career as a registered nurse. He married Monica Lynn Izquierdo in 1989. The couple resided in Taft, TX and welcomed four children, Charles Vincent, Ian Michael, Mason Alessandro and Maris Isabella. His children remember him as a kind and loving father who steadfastly encouraged them to pursue their goals and dreams. He also had two beautiful granddaughters, Brooklyn and Ava, whom he loved dearly. Charles worked at multiple hospitals in Corpus Christi and then moved to Arlington to work in the ER at Arlington Memorial Hospital. Most recently he was employed at Medical City Arlington. He was a dedicated ER nurse and firmly believed that serving and caring for others was his calling. While he had a true passion for his profession, he especially loved the dedicated individuals who shared this passion and considered them all family. Charles was also an accomplished writer, musician and bibliophile. He was a generous, witty individual (some would say character), who loved making others laugh and was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice or share a story or joke. He was a volunteer at The Salvation Army, Good Will, Arlington Food Pantry and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, TX. Charles passed away on March 14, 2018 at Medical City Arlington, surrounded by loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Albert G. Izquierdo and Mrs. Wanda Lou Simms Izquierdo. He is survived by his wife Monica Lynn, three sons, Charles Vincent (Melissa), Ian Michael (Heather) Mason Alessandro, one daughter, Maris Isabella, two granddaughters Brooklyn Brielle and Ava Victoria, three brothers, Albert Luciano, Michael Ray (Frank) and Anthony Scott (Teresa) of Villa Hills, KY, his aunt Jean Anderson, cousins Debra and Rae Jean, of Latonia, KY, his mother and father-in-law, David and Margot Montemayor of Rockwall, and countless in-laws, nieces and nephews. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, TX with Pastor Bobby Bridges officiating the service. A bereavement reception will follow at Meat U Anywhere BBQ in Trophy Club, TX. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charles' life. Wade Family Funeral Home (817) 274-9233
