In Loving Memory of Charles R Fuller

October 10, 1940 — August 13, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Charlie Fuller, who left us peacefully on August 13, 2024, in Arlington, TX. Born on October 10, 1940, in San Antonio, TX, Charlie lived a full and vibrant life spanning nearly 84 years.

Charlie was the loving son of Ralph and Jennie Fuller, who raised him with unwavering love and guidance. He grew up in San Antonio, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and cherished memories. Over the years, Charlie exemplified kindness, hard work, dedication, and devotion to his family and community. Spending 30 years with the San Antonio Fire Department as the most dependable ladder truck engineer. Starting his career at Station #9, later moving to #24, and #34 he came back home to Station #9 to retire in the community he grew up in.

Charlie was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as his beloved sister Rebecca Shed, and son Stephen Fuller. He leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom, and his memory will forever be cherished by his surviving family members. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Vinnie Fuller. Being a retired teacher, she always has a way of making people around her feel loved and appreciated. Her kind touch and thoughtful advice make their home warm and inviting. He is also survived by his wonderful siblings Ralph Fuller Jr, Annette Jordan, and Elvira Goff.

Charlie was blessed with a large and loving family, including his children; Charles “Skip” Fuller II, Sherry Fett, Donna Cleveland, and Deanna Schrader; His adoring grandchildren, Ronnie Wilhite, Nichole Fuller, Christin Hardester, Brittany Brown, Brooke Coolidge, Jonathan Fett, Dallas Schrader, and Sammi Schrader; His great-grandchildren brought additional joy to his later years, and he delighted in the presence of Jasmine Wilhite, Kaitlynn Wilhite, Maya Hardester, Jackson Brown, Jace Coolidge, and was soon to meet our little Caleb Brown, who will be joining us in November.

Charlie’s life was a testament to his unwavering love for his family and friends. He was known for his warm smile, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and his deep commitment to those he loved. Every visit from the grandchildren or great grandchildren ended with full sized candy bars stuffed in their bags and some cash in their pockets with a big laugh.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Charlie's life will be held on Friday September 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery at 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering and paying tribute to a man who touched so many lives with his kindness and generosity.

Though we mourn the loss of Charlie Fuller, we also celebrate the indelible impact he made on all who knew him and his community. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him family or friend. We find comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with those who have gone before him, and we hold onto the beautiful memories and lessons he imparted.

Rest in eternal peace, Charlie. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
