Charlene Rae Elliott Brimage Ricketts, 72, of Dalworthington Gardens, went to be with her Lord on December 20, 2018.
Born in Stratford, Connecticut on February 8, 1946, to Alice Hannigan Elliott and Raymond E. Elliott, she was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Frank Ricketts.
Charl, as she was known to family, or Charli, as she was known to friends, is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Hope Brimage of Pantego; step-daughter and son-in-law, Kaye Ricketts Hill and Kevin Hill of Hillsboro, Oregon; step-son and spouse, Geoffrey and Chris Ricketts; her sister, Norinne Stumph of Katy, Texas; her brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Cindy Elliott of Jefferson City, Tennessee; and a loving extended family of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins; and many dear and cherished friends.
Charli spent a large part of her life as a caregiver, lovingly giving of herself to family and friends every time they needed help. A spirited red-head, her Irish heritage shone brightly in her daily experiences with all who knew her. She was an outstanding mother who loved Michael beyond all words. She enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen preparing food for a weekly meal at St. Barnabas United Church where she found many friends. Charli lived life to the fullest and will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church, 5011 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington, Texas.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas.
