As a young boy Cedric attended primary school in New Orleans and received his high school diploma from St. Augustine (St. Aug), an all-boys parochial high school. Throughout his life he was proud to be a native of New Orleans and a "Purple Knight". During his childhood and his time at St. Aug, he formed life long bonds of brotherhood. Cedric was determined to succeed and he continued his education and received a Pharmacy degree from Texas Southern University and a Masters degree in Health Services Management from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. Growing up in New Orleans, Cedric learned to love music and played the clarinet in St. Augustine famous Marching 100 Band. He refined his musical talent so well that he earned a band scholarship to Texas Southern University. As a young man he pursued discipline, leadership and service. While at Texas Southern, he enlisted in the United States Army (Reserves) as a Private, E-1, and was later commissioned as a Medical Service Officer at the rank of Second Lieutenant. While still serving in the Army, Cedric was asked to transfer to the United States Air Force (Reserve) to fill a pharmacy vacancy. He accepted the invitation and was re-commissioned in the United States Air Force (Reserves) at the rank of Captain. In 2006, after 26 years of distinguished service, Cedric retired from the United States Air Force (Reserves) with the rank of Major. After graduating from Texas Southern University, he moved to the Dallas/Forth Worth area to pursue his Pharmacy career. He worked in numerous healthcare settings, as a retail Pharmacist, hospital Pharmacist, and various leadership roles in administration and management. He studied the science and practice of pharmacy and was known for his vast collection of pharmacy books, manuals, and memorabilia. Cedric loved being a Pharmacist and mentored many along the way. His personal drive and work ethic were remarkable and he maintained active pharmacy licenses in Texas and Louisiana. Cedric and his wife Cheryl were college sweethearts. They were married in 1987 in Houston, Texas. They enjoyed their special season together as husband and wife before growing their family. They became the proud parents of Zachary and Sydney. Cedric's eldest daughter Brandi was an active part of the blended Hunt family as well. Cedric's love for his family was evident and he worked diligently to lead by example; to provide for his family and to leave an honorable legacy. He enjoyed international travel with the family, making memories, taking photos, and listening to jazz and National Public Radio (NPR). He was an avid reader and was a self-taught handyman that took pride in maintaining his home, lawn, and vehicles. Cedric was devoted to his family and loyal to those he considered his friend. He was wise, witty, and had boundless drive. He never grew tired of working hard and loving his wife, children, and dearest friends. Survivors: His loving memory will be cherished by his wife, Cheryl and daughters Brandi Whitney (Michael) and Sydney Hunt and his son Zachary Hunt, uncle Willie Hunt (Dianne), paternal brothers and sisters (Madison), mother-in-law Dorothy Crawford, father-in-law Don Crawford, sister-in-law Chantay Doctor, , and other relatives and special friends.
