Catherine Jane Ekholm

ARLINGTON -- Catherine Jane Cowan Ekholm, 77, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015. Service: The Requiem Eucharist will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at St. Albans Parish, Anglican, 911 S. Davis Drive, Arlington. Visitation: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorials: The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be considered to patriotpaws.org. Cathy was born Sept. 14, 1937, in Birmingham, Ala., to Jane Devlin Cowan and George Alexander Cowan. On Aug. 15, 1958, Cathy married the love of her life, Dr. Harry H. Ekholm Jr., U.S. Navy. They raised three children while traveling the world. Family was most important to Cathy. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren and cruise with her husband, Harry. Cathy enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Fort Worth Quilters Guild and the "Pickles." She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harry Ekholm, in 2014. Survivors: Her loving family, her children, Anita Moore and husband, Terry Moore, Scott Ekholm and wife, Teresa Ekholm, and Kristen Medeiros and husband, Jim Medeiros; grandchildren, Afton Ekholm, Samuel Moore, Reagan Moore, Forrest Ekholm, Jonathan Medeiros, Caroline Moore, Kaitlyn Stafki, Cayla Roark, McKenzie Medeiros and Alexander Stafki; and faithful companion, Dakota.
