Carroll Addison Davis

Carroll Addison Davis, 93, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 in Arlington, Texas.
Carroll was born on September 8, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Carroll Ray Davis and Addrene Jacobs Davis. He attended Agnes Cotton Elementary School, Mark Twain Junior High and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio. Carroll was a graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of ’51, where he was a member of the track team and served in the Corps of Cadets.
He married Leola Marie Morgenroth on February 16, 1952. She passed away on February 14, 2009. Carroll began a long career in management with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1952, retiring in 1990 after 38 years of service.
He was commissioned in the U.S. Army in 1954, serving two years. He subsequently retired from the Army Reserve as a Major.
Carroll was very active civically in every city in which he lived, serving in an official capacity in many. He had a long association with United Way agencies, receiving numerous awards and accolades for his fundraising efforts. He served as President of the Salvation Army and was an official with the YMCA. He also held positions with the Chamber of Commerce and American Cancer Society, and served as President of the Fort Worth A&M Club.
He was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where he had been a member of the Men’s Club. He had previously been a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors: Six children, Terry Cox, Cindy Davis, Delane Kohrs, Curtis (Stacey) Davis, Lisa (Tom) Reed, Chrissy Flowers; five grandchildren, Bill (Brandy) Cody, Addison Reed, Dylan Reed, Cameron Davis and Corey Davis; four great-grandchildren, Colton Cody, Katy Cody, Sydnee Cody and Soulivan Davis.
Funeral Mass: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 31, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington. Graveside: 11:30 a.m., Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 7-8 p.m.Wednesday, August 30, with a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
