Carrol Dean Nelson

Carrol Dean Heard Nelson was born on October 19, 1937 in Fort Worth to Francis Elizabeth and John Henry Heard. Her family moved to Odessa, where she grew up. She met her future husband, Perry Haskell Nelson in Odessa and the two later married on July 27, 1957. The couple had two children, Norman T. Nelson, born on April 8, 1962 and MaryJane Nelson, born on July 8, 1963. She worked various sales jobs when her family needed her to work. Carrol and her husband served as hospice volunteers. After the death of her husband, she moved to Desoto and traveled on many ventures. Carrol enjoyed oil painting, interior decorating and collecting depression glass. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 19, 1990. Survivors: Daughter, MaryJane Fogarty and husband, Robert; son, Norman Nelson; grandchildren, Samantha Pena and C.J. Fogarty; great grandchildren, Alivia and Gabriel Pena; sister, Vera Crawford; and 7 loved nieces.
