Carol Vaughn Cook

July 29, 1942 — July 1, 2018

In Loving Memory Carol Vaughn Cook Entered into Life July 29, 1942 Entered Into Eternal Life July 1, 2018 Carol was born in Corsicana, Texas to Leonard Alexander and Harva Vaughn. She and her family, including three younger brothers, moved to Dallas at an early age. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1960 and then attended Texas Tech University where she met and married Tom Cook on September 28, 1963. They lived a military life for over 5 years with the Air Force. Carol enjoyed the military life especially the officers club activities. Carol and Tom suffered through a long year of separation during the Vietnam War, but their love for each other never faltered and never has for 55 years. They bought their first home in Dallas, where their daughter, Caren, was born, then moved to Arlington in the early 70's where they had their son, Darrin. Their time and experiences in Woodland Park and later in Enchanted Lake Estates left them with many wonderful friends and memories. Carol was active in tennis, bridge, ELE woman's club, but mainly enjoyed raising her children and attending many of their sports activities. She was a true “soccer” mom! She loved all the family pets through out the years, but most of all her dogs. A favorite hobby of hers, which she is very well known for, was making beautiful and elaborate custom scrapbooks for all who asked. Carol was a friend to all and a “Mom” to many. She enjoyed all life had to offer and even when injuries and finally illness, deprived her from the ability to participate at full capacity, she did her best with her beautiful smile. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7th, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Community Hospice of Texas at www.chot.org. Condolences may be made online at wadefamilyfuneralhome.com
