Dr. Carl Edward Dumesnil, age 76, passed away from Lewy Body Dementia on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at his home in Arlington surrounded by his family. Vigil and Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Carl was born on July 13, 1938, in Groves, Texas. His parents were Theodore Charles and Marguerite Mildred Dumesnil. He was the third of four children. He graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1957. While attending Lamar University, he married Beverly Gail Mouton on September 3, 1960. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1961. In 1962, he graduated with a Master of Science from Oklahoma State University. Then in 1969, Carl received his Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Florida. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. During his time in college, Carl and Gail had three daughters, Felicia, Denise and Leslie. Carl was a Mechanical Engineer and a Texas Professional Engineer at Vought Aircraft Company, Northrop Grumman, Gulf Stream and Lockheed Martin. He retired from Northrop Grumman in 1998 after working there for 36 years. Carl helped designed numerous aircrafts including: XC142 (Tilt Wing Prop Plane), A-7 Navy/Air Force, F-8 Navy, center section of the B-2 (Stealth) (Spirit of Texas), EA6B Navy (life extension testing), wings of the T-50 (South Korean Trainer), F14 (arresting hook life extension), Space Shuttle radiator doors, F35 (Joint Strike Fighter), the G-5 (Private Executive Jet) and new design concepts for a lot of “research and development” to sell ideas to military branches. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Marguerite Dumesnil and sister Rebecca Elizabeth “Liz” Dore'. He is survived by his siblings, Charles Dumesnil and spouse Margie and Anne Gulliot. His wife of 54 years Gail and their three daughters, Felicia Johnston and spouse J.R., Denise Dumesnil, Leslie Sprinkle and spouse Andy. His four grandchildren, Shelli Jones and spouse Matt, Ana, William and Grace Sprinkle. His one great-grandson Tristan Jones. In addition to many nieces, nephews and friends.
