ARLINGTON – Carl Watson, 89, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Arlington, TX.

FUNERAL: 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 19th, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington, Dr. Scott Youngblood officiating. Interment: Parkdale Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Monday, July 18th at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington.

Carl was born April 20, 1933, in Big Springs, TX, to Lloyd Leroy Jones and Henrietta Jane Clay, and was raised by his Great Uncle and Aunt – Charles and Edna Watson. He graduated from North Texas State College and received his master’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University. He was both an elementary and junior high school teacher, a published author, talented and avid reader, and painter. Carl was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the church choir for many years. He was also very involved with the Boy Scouts of America, the Arlington GoodTimes Chorus, and various writer’s groups.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Leroy Jones; mother, Henrietta Jane Clay Murphy; wife, Mary Kathrine Niles Watson.

Survivors: Daughter, Linda Watson Knight; son, Keith Watson; daughter-in-law, Kelly Watson; grandchildren, Tanner Knight, Shelbie Jackson Bowling, Erin Young, and Riley Watson; and numerous other family members and friends.
