Candy Sue Young

Candy Sue Young, 73, passed on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in Grand Prairie, TX Memorial Service will take place in the Chapel of Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington 76013 on June 26, 2021 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest that donations be made in Candy's name to the First Church of Christ, Scientist,2701 S Julian Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79102 or the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or by calling 800.272.3900. Candy was born on December 21, 1947 in San Antonio to Leroy Harrison Carroll and Mary Musetta Thompson Carroll. She graduated from McMurray College in 1969 with a degree in Education. She taught at Green Acres Elementary School in Dumas. Candy married Kenneth Young on October 16, 1971 and became a stay-at-home mom when her children were born. Candy loved anything involved with Christmas and collected Hallmark ornaments. She also loved merry-go-rounds, reading, card games (Canasta and Bridge), solving logic and jigsaw puzzles, and word games. She had a passion for serving and learning from others. She loved working with the foreign exchange students the family hosted over her children's high school years.
