Byron Grady Jones, 49, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on January 1, 2025. Grady was born on July 30, 1975, in Lubbock, Texas, to Michael Grady Jones and Cela Kay (Green) Jones.

A proud graduate of Irving High School, Grady found his passion early in life as a mechanic, dedicating 25 years to servicing emergency vehicles for various fire departments. His most recent position was Chief Mechanic for the City of Lewisville. Grady was an Emergency Vehicle Technician who earned the esteemed title of Triple Master Mechanic throughout the course of his career. He was continuously sought after for his expertise and admired for both his technical skill and unwavering dedication to keeping emergency responders safe on the job and mentoring technicians throughout their careers. He served in different aspects on the Board of The Texas Association of Emergency Vehicle Technicians (TAEVT) which is dedicated to improving access to education and certifications in the industry. He also served on the Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification Commission (EVTCC) as an integral part of the FA4 (Fire Apparatus Advanced Electrical) committee. Grady's career was a true testament to his skill, dedication, and love for his craft.

Although he had an esteemed career, Grady was first and foremost a family man. He treasured his time spent with his wife, Amanda, and their children, Emerson and Dalton. Whether it was dancing with friends, sharing a cup of coffee with Amanda, enjoying simple moments with his children or running errands with his dogs, Grady's presence was one of warmth, laughter, and love. He was the kind of man who would drop anything to help anyone in need at any time, embodying generosity and selflessness in all aspects of his life.

Grady is survived by his wife of 18 years, Amanda; his beloved children, Emerson and Dalton, who were his pride and joy; his brother, Mitchell Brice Jones, his sister, Jennifer Leigh (Jones) Picciano and a large circle of extended family and friends whose lives he touched deeply and who will miss him dearly.

Grady is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Cela Kay (Green) Jones.

Grady’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will forever be missed, but never forgotten.
