Burl Loyd Gill

Burl Loyd Gill, 90, passed away on January 24, 2013 at the Community Hospice, Burleson Tx. He was born August 29, 1922 in Dalhart, Texas to Marvin and Ruth Leonard Gill. He married Charlotte Moser Shelinbarger on August 3, 1947 at Clayton, New Mexico. Burl was an Army Veteren of WW 2 having served in the Sicilian and Italian Campagins. He was severly wounded in action near Anzio, Italy. Service medals included the American Defense, Purple Heart and the European African Ribbon. He retired from the Arlington ISD as a warehouse supervisior. Burl was a member of the Church of Christ, He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Survivors are his step son and daughter in law, Glen and Edith Shelinbarger of Arlington. Grandchildren and spouses Lee and Cathie Shelinbarger, Tammy and Rodney Franklin of Arlington, and Troy and Melisa Shelinbarger of Alvarado. Great grandchildren Jared and Tyler Humberson, Cameron and Richard Cardozo, Caitlin Shelinbarger, Troy Gene, Glen Ray and Joe Loyd Shelinbarger and 2 great great grandchildren Graveside services are scheduled for February 8, 2013 at 3pm at Parkdale Cemetery, Arlington Texas.
