Gus was born on September 8, 1950 in Vernon, Texas to Keith Ott and Mildred Marie Schwartz Ott. He was a Vietnam War veteran and proud Marine. Gus worked as a machinist and loved his pearl snap shirts, cowboy hat and bolo ties. He enjoyed listening to and playing all genres of music, but especially guitar blues. When you think of Gus, I hope a little melody plays in your mind and you remember his smile, his love of all things sweet, a man who served his country well and who lived his life his way.
