Brandon James Stacks (1968-2018) Brandon James Stacks, resident of Arlington, Texas, went home to be with Jesus on Monday morning, January 29, in Dallas, Texas. He was born January 21, 1968, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Brandon is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Garland Joy Stacks, and two children, Jacob Brandon Stacks and Gwenith Joy Stacks. Also surviving are his mother, Glenda Stacks; step-mother, Marla Stacks; mother-in-law, Gwen Carriera; brother Chris Lewis; aunt and uncle Carol and David Likely, uncle Robert Stacks, aunt and uncle Linda and Tony Chandler, and aunt Shirley Lewallyn as well as an abundance of cousins, other family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brett Edward Stacks and his father, James Edward Stacks, Jr. Brandon was graduated from Van Alstyne High School in 1986. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1987 to 1991 and was stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was in the Air Force Reserves from 1991 to 2002, reaching the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a 23-year employee of AT&T. For seven years, Brandon was an active member of Tate Springs Baptist Church, where he served on the personnel committee and helped establish a church security force. Brandon was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hiking, and hunting. He was a dedicated father, involved in his childrens' lives, coaching soccer, football, and baseball for them both. He enjoyed playing poker with his friends, serving his church, and taking his family on crazy adventures. Forever giving of himself, Brandon became an organ donor upon his passing. His ashes will be divided between a place of honor at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery and the shores of Port Aransas, a special place in his family history that he loved.
