ARLINGTON -- Birdie Ashley Taylor, 88, died peacefully on December 23, 2016 in Arlington.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Interment: 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas.
Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 prior to the service at the funeral home.
Birdie Ashley Taylor was born on October 11, 1928 in Slidell, Texas to Arthur and Bessie Ashley. She graduated from Slidell High School in 1944. Birdie was an avid competitive bridge player and was a member of the DAR, Arlington Women's Club, and dedicated member to her Sunday School Class. She was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother, who loved to cook, read, and made annual trips which almost always included grandchildren. In a twenty year span in the hotel industry she worked from a night maid to a Consulting Director of Housekeeping. She was always aware of the graces in life, and was a model of breeding and charm. She taught her children and grandchildren, that breeding and manors, would guide them through any social situation. She lived with a zest for life, and passed with the grace and dignity, that were the cornerstones of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Miles Taylor of Arlington, Texas.
Survivors: Birdie is survived by her brother, Walter, of Corinth, Texas; her sister, Mary Ruth of Austin, Texas; her son, Michael Green of Sugarland, Texas; and daughter, Dana Green of Detroit, Michigan; grandson, John Robert (J.R.) Green II; granddaughter, Robin Green Chong; and granddaughter, Katherine (Kati) Green.
