GRAND PRAIRIE -- Billy Stinson Strong, 86, passed away Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, in Arlington.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Thursday in Southland Memorial Park, 1100 SW Third St., Grand Prairie. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Bill was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Farmersville to Carl Newton Strong and Hattie Dora Stinson Strong. A longtime Grand Prairie resident, he was owner and operator of Southland Memorial Park and Bill's Pawn Shop since the late 1960s. A former City Council member, he also volunteered for the Grand Prairie Fire Department for 15 years. Bill loved all animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Beloved wife, Edna Earle Strong; daughter, Jeannine Worthington and husband, Fred; grandchildren, Matt Worthington and wife, Ryan and Erika Yentes; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Dylan, Reese, Cole and Price; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
