Billye Bert Mcelroy

Billye Bert Scott McElroy passed away on November 30, 2022, in Mansfield, Texas.
Celebration of Life: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Wade Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas. Graveside service to follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale, Texas.

Billye was born to Bert and Ethel Scott on September 7, 1931, in Sweetwater, Texas where she met and later married R. E. “Benny” McElroy on January 6, 1951. Billye was a deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She and Benny were members of Northwest Christian Church, Arlington, for fifty years where Billye served in many leadership roles including elder emeritus. She was preceded in death by Benny, her husband for more than sixty-nine years, and her parents.
Survivors: sons Richard McElroy (Becky) and Mike McElroy (Kelli); daughters Melinda Esco (Mark) and Sally Barnes; ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; sister Betty Swaim; numerous nephews and nieces; and her church family.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or a charity of your choosing.
