Billy Harkrider

ARLINGTON -- Billy Lex Harkrider, 78, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 in Arlington. Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington with Rev. David Pointer officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org or 1-800-227-2345. Billy was born on October 18, 1935 in Titus County to Carl Harkrider and Lois Goolsby Harkrider. An Arlington resident for the past 46 years, he was a member of Fielder Road Church. Billy was a longtime homebuilder and built many homes in the Arlington area. He loved his family and friends. Billy is preceded in death by his parents; brother, James E. Harkrider; and an infant son. Survivors: Wife, Henrietta Harkrider; son, Wes Harkrider and wife, Tammy; daughter, Joni Mays and husband, Randy; sisters, Sarah Sherman, Burnell Seay, Martha Davis; grandchildren, Scott Mays and wife, Sara, Hunter Harkrider; and great-grandchildren, Nolan, Hudson, Ava and Addi.
