Billy ("Bill") P. Clark

March 7, 1928 — December 22, 2023

Billy (“Bill”) P. Clark, aged 95, passed away on December 22, 2023.

Born on March 7, 1928, in Granbury, Texas to Grady and Mary Ella Clark, Bill was the second oldest of four children. He graduated from Granbury High School in 1945.

Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1946 and served as an active-duty Private First Class for just under one year. In 1947 he was hired by Consolidated Vultee Aircraft Corporation in Fort Worth. He continued to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves through 1949.

In 1949 Bill completed the requirements for a B.S. Industrial Arts degree from North Texas State College, where he met Bobradine (“Bobbie”) Turner. Bill and Bobbie were married on September 27, 1950.

In 1951, the United States Army drafted Bill. It turned out that his active-duty service in the Marine Corps was just a few weeks short of allowing him to avoid future military conscription. Answering the call of duty again, he left his job at Consolidated and was inducted into the Army as a Sergeant. He served through 1953, when he fulfilled his active-duty commitment. He continued to serve in the Army Reserves until 1958.

In 1954 Bill resumed his career as an engineer in the defense industry by accepting employment with Chance Vought Corporation. He retired from Vought Corporation in 1985.

Bill and Bobbie resided in Arlington, Texas for most of their lives, and Bill was a dedicated member of St. Stephen Methodist church. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, watching sports, traveling, watching the grizzly bears with Bobbie during their summers as volunteer park hosts at Yellowstone National Park, and playing with and teasing his grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Bobbie, who passed away in July 2023.

Bill is survived by his children: Martha and James Wright of Colleyville, Alice and Andrew Bennett of Arlington, and Daniel and Julie Clark of College Station; seven grandchildren: Christa Keltner (Michael), Melanie Brunett (David), Angela Redman (Chris), Diana Buchanan (Mark), Nathan Wright (Hailey), Randy Clark (Meagan), and Jay Clark (Riley); sixteen great-grandchildren: Mason, Brayden, Kennedy and Weston Keltner; Madison and Ryann Brunett; Noah and Audrey Redman; Beau, Davis, Jack and Bennett Buchanan; Olivia and Avery Wright; Kelsey Mae Clark; and Hallie Clark; brother Donald Clark.
