Beula "Cherri" Duty

A life lived to the fullest, Beula "Cherri" Duty went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church located at 5415 Matlock Road, Arlington, TX 76018. Her love, friendship, and selflessness was the highest level of God's presence in this world. She will be missed greatly by family and friends who will always remember her smile and her generosity. She entered into life on March 23, 1956 in the Panama Canal Zone, in the Panama Republic of Panama. She attended Gamboa Santa Cruz Elementary School where she was the Spelling Bee Champion through High School. She attended the Instituto de las Americas in Panama City, Panama where she graduated with honors and was the 100 meter champion two years in a row. She also graduated from the University of Panama. She served in the U.S. Army as a Dental Specialist from 1979 to 2001 and attained the rank of First Sergeant. She retired after 22 years in the Army. Her educational accomplishments include: Associates of Arts Degree from Saint Leo University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational Studies from Southern Illinois University and a Masters of Science in Interdisciplinary Psychology from Eastern Washington University. During her many achievements, she was also a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in Atlanta, GA. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church since 2005 and served in the Children's Ministry. She also was a member and Prayer Leader of Women's "E" Sunday School Class. Survivors: Her husband, John; son, Reginald Duty Jr.; grandchildren, Ethan, Madison and Caleb Harris; siblings, Daisy, Malvina, Carmen, Diana, Alicia, Carson, Henry and Candy; and amongst a host of friends, Virginia Thomas, Yazmin Arredondo, Sandy Page, Kat Furh, Gloria Rose, Jennifer Ramirez, Paulette Williams, Jacinta Savage and many more.
