ARLINGTON -- Betty Lou Parten, 83, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015, in Arlington.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Dr. Dennis Wiles officiating. Interment: 1 p.m. Tuesday in Gateway Memorial Park, Waxahachie. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Betty was born July 26, 1931, in Waxahachie to Charley Asbury Wilson and Roberta Johnson Wilson. She graduated from Waxahachie High School. An Arlington resident for 60 years, she was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church. Professionally, she was a longtime Arlington banker. Betty's favorite past time were the "slot machines".
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Barkley Fay Parten, on Aug. 1, 2000.
Survivors: Son, Bruce Parten; daughter, Debra Payne and husband, Jerry; brothers, Charley Wilson and Clarence Wilson; sisters, Linda Strength and Wanda Miers; and grandchildren, Jordan Payne, Courtney Baker and Anthony Ruggeri.
