Betty Lou Swaim

Betty Lou Scott Swaim, 96, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023.

Betty was born October 4, 1926 in Sweetwater, Texas to the late Bert Addison Scott and Bertie Ethel (Shaddix) Scott. On January 19, 1945, she married the love of her life, Raymond Jack Swaim. They lived many places in the world while Jack served in the United States Air Force as a pilot. After Jack retired from the Air Force in 1965, they made their home in Arlington, Texas.

Betty loved to read, garden, sew and paint, but her favorite pastimes always involved her children and grandchildren. She encouraged them to be imaginative and creative and loved to display their artwork.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Billye Bert McElroy.
She is survived by three sons, Jim (Susie) of Arlington, John Scott of Charlotte and Mark (Kathy) of Krum; five grandchildren, Irene, Kevin, Byron (Bethany), Nicole (Jon) and Eric; and two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Henry.
