Betty Lou O'Steen, passed away peacefully in Arlington, Texas on May 27, 2018 at the age of 92.
Graveside Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 1, at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Visitation: The family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Betty was born on February 20, 1926 in Wichita Falls, Texas and lived much of her life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On December 4, 1943, Betty married Burl T. O'Steen in Grand Forks, North Dakota while he was in the Army Air Corps during WWII. She was a wonderful mother to her three children and made a loving home for her family.
In addition to raising her family, Betty enjoyed serving for 25 years in the Mother's Day Out ministry of Grace United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. She was an avid sports fan and especially loved her Oklahoma Sooners. Her family and friends grieve as she leaves this life but rejoice with her as she passes into the arms of Jesus.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Kirby Sims and Lillie Brake; and by Burl O'Steen, her husband of 60 years; as well as by a grandson, Michael O'Steen.
Survivors: She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Dub and Suzanne O'Steen of Spring, Steve and Nancy O'Steen of Arlington, and Jan and Jim Dailey of Plano. Betty is further survived by her five grandchildren: Eric O'Steen, Kristen Gatlin, Patrick O'Steen, Andy O'Steen, and Michelle O'Steen. She has 7 great-grandchildren.
