Betty Ann Stovall

Betty Ann Stovall, 88, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Oct 26, 2022.

She was born on November 24, 1933 in Dyer, Arkansas to the late Pierce and Ola Selby. She was married to Nathan V. Stovall for 61 years. Nathan was the love of her life and they were married in Dallas, Tx and raised their two sons in Arlington, Tx. They attended First Christian Church in Arlington for more than 50 years, Betty was employed at Mitchell’s Department Store in. Arlington, Tx for many years where she worked in the men’s department and often had the highest sales for the years.

Betty is preceded in death by her four sisters, Datha Moyers, Suddie Dean, Johnnie Stovall, and Eola Pace and by her brother, Robert Selby. She is survived by two sons, David Stovall and wife Susan of Arlington, Tx and Darrell Stovall and wife Dawn of Fort Smith, Ar.

Survivors also include five grandchildren:, Chris Stovall and wife Lydia, Jessica Stovall, Ben Stovall and wife Thy, Luke Stovall, Claire Clayton and husband John David and nine great grandchildren who all affectionately call her “Nana”.

Betty (Nana) was best known by those who loved her for her delicious cooking, especially chocolate cake, banana pudding and macaroni and cheese. Betty collected angels and loved to play Hand and Foot. Betty and Nathan loved to dance and travel with their RV Club. Betty was a woman of great faith and was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 3, from 6-8 pm at Wade Funeral Home. A graveside service for members of Betty’s family will be at 9 am Friday, November 4, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
