ARLINGTON -- Bernadine M. Reed, 84, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, in Fort Worth.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington. Entombment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with a rosary at 7.
Bernadine was born Aug. 6, 1928, in Wilmington, Del., to Hedwig and John Mengelewicz. She was a devout Catholic and attended Mass daily. Her faith was very important to her.
She served on the Ladies Auxiliary at Arlington Memorial Hospital for numerous years. She enjoyed quarter slot machines, loved to ballroom dance and was especially fond of the polka.
Bernadine had a wonderful sense of humor and told jokes to everyone she met.
Bernadine was fiercely loyal to her children and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She supported her family through everything and even helped her grandchildren with college expenses.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Bernadine was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Reed.
Survivors: Sons, Bob Reed Jr. and wife, Deborah, Ron Reed and Richard Reed; daughter, Rebecca Clark and husband, John; grandchildren, Robert III, Ashley, Rusty, Chad, Christopher and Samantha; and great-grandchildren, Allye, Emily, Claire and Hudson.
