Benita Jo Reed

Benita Jo Reed, 71, passed away on May 6, 2023, in Arlington, TX. She was born on November 30, 1951, in Gainesville, TX. Her parents were Wilma and David Florentin. Benita was known to her loved ones as “Benita, mom, nanna, nanny and aunt netter” and was a strong, fearless, supportive, loving, loyal daughter of God.

Benita was an evolving craftsman who enjoyed a variety of artistic endeavors, including oil painting, flower arrangements, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and jewelry making, to name just a few. Her creativity and passion for the arts were admired by many.

Benita will be deeply missed by her husband, Ben Reed, her daughters, Mendy Simmons and Dee Woodhull, her step-son, Heath Reed, her grandchildren, Ashley Maher, Amber Welch, Hannah Welch, Forest Deptawa, Mason Woodhull, Sky Woodhull, and Taylor Reed, her great-grandchildren, Richard & Emma Maher and Luka Munoz, and her brothers, Freddie, Mike, and Sterling. She has now been reunited in heaven with her mother, Wilma Florentin, her father, David Florentin, and her beloved sister, Debbie Bethune.

This service is being held in honor of Benita’s life. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering faith, and her love for her family.
