FORT WORTH -- Aurelio Ray Barron, 69, passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at home.
Funeral Mass: Noon Wednesday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington. Memorial Mass: 8 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Cathedral in El Paso.
Ray was born Feb. 16, 1945, in El Paso to Concepcion Betancourt and Aurelio Barron. He attended school in El Paso and graduated Texas Western College (now the University of Texas-El Paso) before joining the Navy. During his service, Ray was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Ray retired after 24 years of service to his country.
Ray was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Domingo Barron.
Survivors: Wife of 43 years, Maria Barron; sons, Brian Barron and wife, Michelle, Daniel Barron and wife, Sandra, and David Barron; sister, Irma Castro; brothers, Fidel, Charlie and Mario Barron; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Barron, Joshua Austin Barron and Ashton Michael Barron.
