Ashley was born on May 8, 1998 to Sarah and Ross Norton of Twentynine Palms, California. She was the oldest of four-- Two sisters, Hannah and Natalie, and one brother, Ross Ray. Having grown up as a military child, Ashley moved around from place to place many times in her life. Both of her parents were born in Texas, but Ashley called many different places home. From various places in California to North Carolina to Maryland to California back again, there was never a dull moment for the Norton family. With the house always hustling and bustling full of energy and constant movement, Ashley found solace in the more quiet activities.
Besides her family, Ashley loved writing more than anything. A true scholar and creative soul, Ashley appreciated classic literature and often looked to widely acclaimed authors such as Virginia Woolf and Charles Bukowski for inspiration when writing her own poetry. Ashley loved all forms of art. She so very deeply loved music, photography, literature, and poetry. At only 19, she was working on her first novel.
Ashley was a creative, animal-loving, intelligent, and beautiful girl. But most of all, her family knew her to be passionate. In every single facet of her life.
Ashley is survived by her parents, her sisters, her brother, her grandparents, and multiple cousins, uncles, and aunts. Her surviving grandparents include Lorie Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas; Kelly Ralston of Big Spring, Texas; and Doris Norton of Midland, Texas. Ashley is preceded in death by her grandfathers Russell Norton and Tom Ralston.
