Arthur Rodgers

Arthur Rodgers Jr., 92, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in Arlington, Texas. Arthur will be remembered at a memorial service on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 w. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Tx 76013. Services will be held at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. He was born on April 11, 1928 to Arthur and Lillie (Cottle) Rodgers, Sr. in Menard, Texas. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1945, then earned his Masters Degree in Science. He worked as a millwright for 15 years, then in construction as an estimator for some 30 years. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lillie Rodgers; sisters, Lorreta Bradford, Lucille Sturges, Eloise Pearl and one brother James Rodgers. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Christy Rodgers and Danny Rodgers and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Keith Rodgers, Cyrena Rodgers, Jason Rodgrs and wife, Rebecca and Scott Rodgers and wife Colleen; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ava, Paige and Dexter. He will also be missed by his step-son, Lewis Smotherman and wife Patricia,; step-daughter, Len Schwake; step-grandchildren, Dianna, Jaclyn, Emily, Amanda and Lensey; step-great-grands, James, Liam and Cora.
