Arthur Lee Payne

Arthur Lee Payne, 82 of Arlington TX passed on to the Lord on Monday, September 6, 2021. He was born April 28, 1939 in Levelland TX to A.L.B and Anna Lee Payne. Arthur graduated from Arlington High School in 1957 and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He worked at the Arlington Citizen Journal from 1956 to 1981, then the Dallas Times Herald and Dallas Morning News. Arthur was a kind and loving man who would help anyone in need. His most important charity is the Wounded Warrior Project. He enjoyed the meet and greets, and gatherings with his high school class of 57. Arthur loved visits and calls with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed many lunches and historical tours of Arlington with former classmate Barbara Kight. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents A.L.B and Anna Lee Payne, his first and second wives Wanda Sue Payne and Terry Marie Payne. He is survived by his children Kelly Payne, Kevin Payne, Kim Forrester, and Katrice Crain. His sisters and brothers in law Wease and Joe Harden, Wannie and Gordon Rainey, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends that will dearly miss him. Memorial service will be 11AM Saturday October 9th, 2021 at Wades Funeral Home. Inurnment 1PM at Moore Memorial Gardens.
