Arthur Charles MacKay, 91, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 in Bedford. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, September 11, at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: At a later date, Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church, 715 E Lamar Blvd, Arlington, TX 76011. Arthur Charles Mackay was born on February 2, 1930 in Scranton, PA. He was the second born child of Harold Gwynne and Edna Armbrust. His father died when Art was three years old and his mother remarried to Albert Mackay. He was adopted and became Arthur Charles Mackay with three older brothers. After graduating from Scranton High School, he worked in the Scranton Lace Factory which was highly recognized in the textile industry. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 and was a Flight Mechanic Technician on the B36 aircraft and served stateside in Texas, Illinois and California. He was honorably discharged 1954. After the military service, he started his civilian life in San Antonio, Tx and became a transplanted long tall Texas and loved being in Texas. He became a sales representative for Litton Industries in Texas. He then started his own computer Centurion dealership in Fort Worth selling the large frame computers. In 1960, he married Dorothy Hamby and had two children, Stephen and Deborah. In 1984, he met and married Janet Bottlinger, who was the love of his life. They made their home in Arlington. Art was an avid golfer and played weekly with his friends for over 20 years. He played golf with the group until about 3 months ago when the weather became too hot. After that he continued to meet with the group for lunch weekly. Art was a very outgoing person and had a great dedication for finding bargains and engaging in the art of the deal. He was fun loving, self-driven and fully engaged in life. Art will be remembered as a man of presence with his stature, his voice and outgoing personality and will be missed by many.
