Armando Chavez, Jr. (affectionately known as “Mando or Junior”) of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 41. He was born on September 9, 1983, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, to Armando Chavez, Sr. and Edna Sue (Garza) Chavez.
A proud graduate of Bowie High School, Armando was known for his loving, playful spirit and his deep connection to family and friends. He was a man with a big heart, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. His love for his wife, Eizabel, was evident in everything they shared together— His passion for video gaming, traveling, 80’s and 90’s music and movies, attending Comic Con events, collecting pop figures that included Star Wars (with Boba Fett being one of his favorites), Ninja Turtle and Marvel memorabilia. He also enjoyed meals out with family and friends, holiday events, and barbequing at home. They built a life full of laughter, adventure, and mutual support. He was extremely proud of being married to the love of his life and soulmate Eizabel.
Armando’s playful nature extended beyond his relationship with his wife-he was often called a "big kid" by those who knew him, especially when he was with children, even joining in during the kid activities such as jumping in bounce houses, hitting piñatas and playing video games with his nephews and nieces. He loved to laugh and would joke or send funny memes or videos to all his family and friends. He would dress up for Halloween as funny characters just to make everyone around him laugh too. He was always present at birthdays, graduations, and multiple special events for his nieces, nephews, family and friends. His beloved dog, Zelda, was another source of joy in his life. Armando’s love for his family was fierce and unwavering, always putting them first, and his friends were considered extended family.
From an early age, Armando developed a passion for sports, particularly basketball and baseball. His favorite Uncle Oscar coached him and got him involved in sports, especially basketball. Because of that, he was able to experience winning a basketball championship not only in his elementary years, but during middle school too. While he was a fan of his hometown team, the Chicago Cubs and the Texas Rangers, Armando’s heart ultimately belonged to the Atlanta Braves.
Armando is survived by his loving wife, Eizabel, his parents, Armando Chavez, Sr. and Edna Sue Chavez, his sister Dalia (Chavez) Vallejo, her husband Daniel Vallejo and niece Valerie Vallejo and nephew Daniel Vallejo Jr., numerous nieces and nephews from his wife’s side, and a wide circle of uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held in his honor, and the family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Armando’s life and the joy he brought to those around him.
Armando will forever be remembered for his loving heart, his playful soul, and the treasured memories he created with everyone he knew. May he rest in peace.
