ARLINGTON -- Anna S. Blissit, 92, was called home by the Lord Friday, February 28, 2014 after a short illness at home.
Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington with Rev. David Jenkins officiating. Interment: 11:30 a.m. Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane C. Visitation: Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Anna was born August 27, 1921 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She attended Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, San Antonio Junior College and the University of Texas at Austin. She married William N. Blissit in Sinton, Texas November 16, 1947.
She loved the Lord and over the years she taught Sunday School to both children and adults. She also taught a group bible study on Wednesday evenings in the home of a parishioner for many years, was active in the Episcopal Renewal Ministries, the Aglow Women's Fellowship and the Order of St. Luke. She read and studied the bible daily.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents; brother, Robert; and sister-in-law, Catherine.
Survivors: Anna is survived by son, Mike and wife, Candace Sue; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Deborah Ruth and Andrew; four great-grandchildren, Dakota, Sierra, Jasmine and Sarah Beth.
