Anna Louise Pittman, a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023, in Arlington, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 12, 1939, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to John and Ruth Putney. With a heavy heart, we bid farewell to a remarkable woman who touched the lives of all those she encountered.
Anne led a fulfilling life, filled with moments of laughter, love, and adventure. She had a passion for discovering new places and embraced the joy of traveling. Whether it was exploring distant shores or embarking on road trips with loved ones, Anne always found beauty in the world around her.
Known for her strong work ethic, Anne was a determined and dedicated individual. She treasured her role as a grandmother and cherished her grandchildren, Jason Bradshaw, Payne Pittman, and Paxton Pittman. They were the light of her life, and she immersed herself in creating cherished memories with them.
Anne’s deep faith guided her every step, and she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas. Her commitment to her church community was an expression of her compassionate nature and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was a shining example of faith and love, leaving an indelible mark on those whose lives she touched.
Anne had an unwavering spirit, standing up for what she believed in and fighting for justice. She had a unique gift for making everyone around her feel special, remembering birthdays, and embracing the warmth of family gatherings during the holidays. Her love for her family knew no bounds.
Anne married the love of her life, Don Pittman, on September 18, 1954. Though she was predeceased by Don, their love story will forever be held close to the hearts of those who knew them. Together, they built a life filled with love and everlasting memories.
Anne leaves behind her beloved son Thad Pittman and wife Michelle of Fort Worth, Texas, and daughter Michelle Bradshaw and husband Doug of Arlington, Texas. She also leaves behind her brother John Putney and his wife Cassie, her dear nephews Brock and Kevin Ward, and a host of friends and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 11:00 am at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas. Following the service, Anne will be laid to rest at the Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, Texas.
Anna Louise Pittman will be deeply missed but will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. May we honor her memory by embracing life with the same unwavering spirit and joy she possessed.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Arlington, Texas, in Anna’s name.
Rest in peace, dear Anna. Your spirit will live on, inspiring us all to live meaningful and giving lives.
