Anna Eugenia "Jean" Hicks passed away on September 23, 2024, in North Richland Hills, Texas. She was 96 years of age.
Jean was born on June 17, 1928, in Cooper, Texas to Robert Watson McVay and Eula Frensley. Jean met a handsome young man named Claude Earl Hicks Jr. in the singles group at her church. They fell in love and married in March 1980 and remained married for 40 years until Claude's death in May 2020.
Jean loved the outdoors and was an expert in hunting, fishing and camping. She worked for the Insurance Company of North America and also the First United Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Arlington Sportsman Club and First Baptist Church in Arlington.
Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband Claude E. Hicks Jr.; son Robert Michael Harmon; son-in-law, Kerry McNairn; three brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Peggi McNairn; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on October 7, 2024, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas. A committal service will be held at 10:30am on October 8, 2024, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery where Jean will be buried with her beloved husband Claude.
