Anna Louise Bloskas

September 21, 1930 - February 20, 2025

Anna Louise Bloskas, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025. Born in Bedford, Indiana, to Clifford and Gladys Hudson Nelson, she lived a life full of faith, determination, and adventure.

Ann's early years were spent traveling the country as her father's work took their family from coast to coast, overseeing the construction of electric power plants. Despite having only a high school education, she built an impressive career, working in executive roles at companies such as Dr. Pepper and Neiman Marcus. At Neiman Marcus, she worked closely with Stanley Marcus, who frequently requested her assistance in the executive suite. She later joined Lady Love Cosmetics, where she rose to the position of National Sales Director, overseeing a $60 million network of independent sales representatives.

A devoted member of First Baptist Church Dallas, Ann taught Sunday School in the oral-deaf department, inspired by her son, John Jr. She also volunteered at Need-Him, sharing her deep knowledge of the Bible and witnessing to those seeking guidance. Ann had an incredible ability to recall scripture by book and verse, a testament to her unwavering faith.

She was also known for her love of travel, exploring many countries throughout her life. In her younger years, she was an accomplished seamstress, sewing her own clothes with great skill.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Gladys Nelson, husband, John D. Bloskas, daughter Suzanne, and son John Bloskas Jr. She is survived by her son, Kenneth D. Bloskas; grandchildren, Karin Webb Banks, Brandee Webb, Sara Ashley Bloskas, William Connor Bloskas, Michael Preston Bloskas, and James Grayson Bloskas; and great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Brittney Cox and Jason Banks. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Richey.

Ann's legacy of faith, love, and perseverance will be cherished by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to hard work, devotion, and a heart committed to serving others.

A graveside service to honor Ann's life will be held on March 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
