Ann Shenkir Thompson

Ann Shenkir Thompson, 86, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 in Arlington, Texas. A Graveside service for Ann will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 9th at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. Ann was born on June 13, 1934 to Adolph Frank and Anna (Cabla) Sheniker in Zabcikville, Texas. Ann was proud of her Czech heritage and was a member of SBJST Lodge 47. She graduated from Temple High School and was an excellent volleyball player and an outstanding athlete. She was a member of the basketball, volleyball, softball and track teams. Moving to Arlington from Lionville, Pennsylvania 39 years ago, she was a faithful member of Woodland West Church of Christ. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gregory Lane Thompson and one sister, Shirley Patterson. She is survived by her husband, Jack Thompson; three sons, Jack W. Thompson Jr. and wife, Joanie, Scott Thompson and wife, Andrea; two sisters, Ruth Keith and Norma Tucker and husband, Gary; three grandchildren, Jason, Sarah and Josh.
